Assessing endangerment of archaeological heritage in Latvia: legal framework and socio-economic aspects

The aim of the article is to reflect currently existing regulatory environment for damages caused archaeological sites by illegal human intervention and its implementation law enforcement sector courts in Latvia. mostly focused on legal socio-economic consequences endangerment sites. It analyses liability aspects, examines case law, determines challenges proposes basis improvement administrative procedures. Methods applied research are literature review, framework documentary analysis, statistical analysis. results could be used inter alia purposes criminal, civil proceedings, amending regulation damage assessment mechanisms.
